Boggart: Underwater, drowning (Boggart would probably turn into water and try to drown him). Please note that Zander does know how to swim, he's afraid of drowning the most because that's how his friend died.

Appearance: [Image Here] Zander his light skinned with wavy blonde hair that is 3-5 inches long. He has bright true-hazel eyes that are usually light colored brown, blue or green. Zander is tall and lean, with a strong and sturdy frame of body. He has strong and agile limbs and a good overall balance (not that he can't be tripped up, but he doesn't trip on his own a lot).
Personality: Zander is a little weird for an 18 year old boy. For one, he's typically a loner and his best friend died when he was young, but he's not emo over it at all. He's typically not very emotional over sad things like that and has mostly gotten over the fact that his friend is dead other than the lingering fear of drowning and his ambition to become stronger. He's actually more of a jock type, if jocks were loners... something like that. He's very athletic and good at physical activities. He's also not all that smart. He gets lost easily, and is very easy to confuse or trick. He's also very simple minded and doesn't catch on to things all that well. Another reason he's a loner is because he's usually sleeping, and thus has little time to be social. Zander can sleep absolutely anywhere, almost instantly.
Zander is also very rude in his speech, and usually doesn't care if he gets in trouble for it. He says some pretty harsh things, but he's actually a very good guy at heart. He knows right from wrong and has a good sense of justice, but usually doesn't act on anything unless its near him or disturbing him. For example, if there was someone being bullied and is making so much noise it wakes him up, he'll probably get pissed and go break it up but even if it's the victim he's telling to shut up, he's going to fight with the bullies.
Though there is not doubt that Zander is not all that good at thinking, he usually can see things clearly and can give pretty good advice on how to handle situations, even if he never acts in situations like that.
He can get a bit violent when fighting and usually uses physical means when he's annoyed, smacking/punching the annoying one on the back of the head. He likes food that he can eat with his hands, especially sweet things like pastries. He is also very loyal and straightforward, and believes that a man should never break a promise.


History: Zander lived in the USA until he was 17, and went to school there for most of his life. His parents are both alive and overall typical. They go to work, come home, eat dinner together, etc. Both of them are a bit baffled by their son, but are supportive of him. Neither are very clingy, and have been fine with him staying out pretty late as long as he got back by 11 pm. At home Zander had a pretty typical life.
But a lot of Zander's life happened outside of home, and a big part of it started when he was just 5 years old. That was when he first met Leslie, a girl about one year his senior. He met her on a playground where he was fighting with a few other kids. Zander usually liked to pick fights with strong-looking kids to see if he was stronger (he was a very meat-headed kid). Leslie took up his challenge, though he had at first denied it since she was a girl. A double-dare later it was on and Zander found himself tossed in the sandbox. He was extremely embarrassed and claimed it was a fluke, but no matter how many re-tries they had she always won. He later found out it was because her muggle father taught wrestling and she had picked up a few techniques.
During the course of him trying to defeat her, they began to hang out and eventually become friends as well as rivals. When they went to school together they dueled and practiced magic with each other as well, though still, Leslie always won (no real explanation for that, she was just better). Zander eventually became frustrated though, especially when Leslie told him she didn't want to accept anymore of his challenges because it wasn't lady-like (he's about 12 at this time).
He replied that he hadn't lost to anyone but her and he wouldn't accept her backing down. He asked for one last match, and promised her that he would defeat her that next time they fought. She humored him enough and told him that would be their last fight ever.
Unfortunately, before the day of the duel, Leslie slipped and fell into the river that flowed near the playground and drowned.
Zander took it very hard the first few weeks, not knowing what to do with himself after losing his best friend and rival, and became very upset. He developed a fear of drowning that pops up whenever he goes underwater (though he can swim) because he thinks of Leslie and how she died that way even though she was so strong. Eventually though he did come to accept her death and decided that he should still try to keep up with the promise he made her since there was no doubt in his mind that he'd meet her again. It's because of that that he tries to be the toughest and strongest in everything since he can't test his power against hers. ALthough he honors her memory, it's not something he dwells on.
When he was 17 his parents moved to Great Britain, him along with them, and he transfered over to Hogwarts in his 6th year. He is now in his 7th Year and going to (hopefully with his grades...) graduate this year.
