Appearance: Lanky in build, with muscle and very little fat, which he often curses when the cold weather comes. Pale skin with a slightly pinkish tint, and very few freckles, despite his Irish blood. Strong jawbone and angular facial features. When he smiles, it is never a really large smile, since he is self-conscious of his teeth (although they are straight). His hair is a darkish-mousy brown and around three inches long and often mussed up. He has blue eyes, which are oftentimes only half-open. Besides the normal uniform for school, Cormac likes to wear sweaters and jeans, especially a blue and white one which his grandmother knitted for him.
Personality: Out of all the Ravenclaws of his year, Cormac is perhaps the most cunning and strategic. He plans everything out to a point where nothing seems to be a surprise to the clever Ravenclaw. The tactician of the Quidditch team, he is a master a creating new formations and plays, and has a new playbook made for the team for every match. If things do not go strictly according to plan, although he can make a new plan quickly, he becomes somewhat distraught and he has to know why his plan had gone wrong. Thus, he can be hard on himself when problems do arise. He too has the keenest eyes on the field, and some say that he has the vision of an eagle. He is humble,, however, and tells those to hush about it. Don't want anyone getting ideas...
History: Born to Dr. Patrick Faulkner, a professor of English at the university of Dublin and from one of the highest-respected wizarding families in Ireland, and Mrs. Anne Faulkner, herself from a decently wealthy family, Cormac and his three sisters lived a good life and had a fantastic childhood. The children were somewhat spoiled, and when they asked for something they most likely got it. For example, for her third birthday, Cormac's youngest sister exclaimed that she demanded a pony, and her father that very day purchased for her a white pony of the finest stock. In his youth, the boy too was greedy, simply because of his inexperience with the outside world and the poverty around him. He rode the finest horses his father and mother could buy, eat the best food, and even had lessons in charms as a young boy from a tutor. A trip to town one day when he was nine, however, changed his thinking. He had gone out with his sisters and mother to purchase a new chair for their dining room and Cormac had snuck off from his family. In the small village he saw a simpler life, and the people, to his shock, seemed happier for having less. Over the next two years, he found reasons to go back to the town, and even befriended a shopkeep and her twin boys, Jacob and Jack, all Muggles. However, at the age of 11 he was shipped off to Hogwarts, although he does keep in touch with the two and has not been the greedy little boy since.
In his second year, he had been reading his family history and read that his great-grandfather had been an animagus, turning himself into a weasel, and was able to sneak around the grounds without anyone catching him. His young descendant wished to do the same, with his thirst for new information and love of sneaking around, and proceeded to train himself to become an animagi himself. His form was not clear until around his fifth year, when he deduced that he was to be a bird of some sort. Hoping it not to be a sparrow, by his sixth year his full form was established, a golden eagle. He was registered, lest the faulkner name be tarnished by lawbreaking, and he's been flying around the grounds ever since.
